Welcome Letter
Whether you are a new or returning quilter, you will find a wonderful selection of classes and lectures offered at our 19th annual Minot Prairie Quilt Festival on March 16, 17 and 18, 2012. We want to encourage you to join us for "Quilter's are Berry Special" by signing up for classes, lectures or a trunk show where you might learn new shortcuts, techniques, find a new pattern, book or tool, share a tip or fall in love with a familiar block all over again. Quilters from all over the area will be gathering for three days of hands-on quilting classes, sharing tips and more. Even though some of us have been quilting for years, we never stop learning. All quilters, whether old or new are a source of inspiration and knowledge. Think of this Festival as more of a quilting party! You are in for another exciting year as we welcome Nancy Odom from Carmel, IN. She is a fabric designer for P & B Textiles and is also an accomplished author. Nancy will be judging our quilt entries this year and is our banquet speaker; to learn more about her please take time to visit her website at www.nancyodom.biz. Our other national teacher is Heidi Pridemore of "The Whimsical Workshop". She has been designing patterns since 1998 and is from Chandler, AZ. Check out all of the colorful designs on her website at www.thewhimsicalworkshop.com. Our featured quilter for 2012 is Fern Laudenschlager a long standing member of the Minot Prairie Quilter.s having joined our guild in 1990. Please stop by her display of quilts in the vendor's mall and congratulate her on this honor. She will be our special guest at this year's banquet. Our vendors have outdone themselves and are ready to satisfy your needs, whether it is for a new project, pattern or something you need for class. Please feel free to contact them ahead of time if you need help locating an item needed for your classes or any current project. The hours of the quilt show and vendors is listed on the back cover. Remember it is only $3.00 to come and view the quilt show and shop our vendor's mall but is FREE to our registrants. Be sure to check out all the beautiful quilts located in vendor mall area along with the ones across the hall in the banquet hall. Quilts by our national teachers are on display as well as our challenge quilts with, of course, the theme, "Quilter's are Berry Special". Finally, be sure to mark your calendar for next year's Festival, as we celebrate our 20th anniversary on March 15-17, 2013. One of our national teachers will be Pamela Dinndorf of "Aardvark Quilts". Thank you for joining us this year and we hope you have a "Berry Special" weekend. It's been our pleasure to bring this Festival to you.
