Quilt Show Entry Guidelines
 

The Minot Prairie Quilters are sponsoring the Prairie Quilt Show 2008 as part of our Prairie Quilt Festival. We are pleased to welcome Kate Eelkema as the quilt judge for 2008! She is a NQA-certified judge, teaches quiltmaking workshops, and gives lectures about various aspects of quilting.
 

  1. An entry form must be submitted for each item entered. You may enter as many categories as you wish; however, only one entry is allowed per category. The entry fee is $3 which covers ALL quilts entered by a participant and must accompany the entry form(s). There is no entry fee for the display only or youth categories.
     
  2. Entry forms must be received by March 10, 2008

  1. Items entered in the judged categories must be made of fabric, quilted, in excellent condition, and must have been constructed by the exhibitor. Items previously entered in the Minot Quilt Festival, tied, soiled or torn quilts, and hard-framed quilts will not be accepted. All quilts must be labeled with the “identification tag.” All quilts must be left on display until the show closes.
     
  2. Special techniques include embroidery, crazy patch, stained glass, fused, fringed, photo transfer, etc.
     
  3. The Festival Committee reserves the right to place entries in more appropriate categories. The judge may award duplicate ribbons in any category and reserves the right not to award ribbons if specific category criteria are not met. All judged entries will receive a written evaluation.
     
  4. The Minot Prairie Quilters and the Grand International will not be responsible for damages, loss, or theft of any article during the Quilt Show. During show hours, guild members will patrol the display area. After hours the exhibit hall is locked and security will be provided.
     
  5. Entries are to be brought to the Grand International, 1505 N. Broadway (Highway 83 North), Minot, ND on Wednesday, March 26, 2008 between 4:00 p.m. and 7:00 p.m. No entries will be accepted on Thursday.
     
  6. If you are unable to hand-deliver your quilts, you may ship your entries to Gladys Lowell at the address listed above. Please include a complete return mailing label and return postage ($10.00 minimum). All entries will be returned US Postal Service.
     
  7. There are also drop off points at J & R Vacuum & Sewing in Bismarck, and Rose’s Quilt Shop in Devils Lake. The quilts must be delivered to these drop off points before Saturday, March 22, 2008.
     
  8. Quilt show entries will be released for pick-up at 4:00 p.m. on Sunday, March 30, 2008. No entries may be picked up early.
